About the role#
As a Substation Engineer Intern in the Grid business unit, you will join a project team to support the execution of engineering work. You will work on projects involving new designs, modifications, and upgrades for transmission, substation, distribution, renewable, and battery energy storage systems. You will work under the direction of senior engineers to apply your academic background to real-world engineering tasks.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
- Track project activities, report on progress, and evaluate project data.
- Prepare specifications for the procurement of electrical power equipment and installation services.
- Solve engineering problems by using automation and AI tools to improve workflows, reduce rework, and create cost-effective designs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science program, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge of design techniques and principles used to produce technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Ability to identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

- Compensation: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour.
