About the role#
The Deer Park Food Store in Red Deer is hiring a casual Food Cashier. This role involves less than 24 hours of work per week. You must be available to work mornings, afternoons, and evenings on both weekdays and weekends. This is a unionized position with UFCW Local 401. Preference is given to Central Alberta Co-op candidates. This store participates in the Alberta Youth Incentive Program for individuals aged 15-24.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and answer their questions.
- Process sale transactions accurately.
- Bag purchases and help customers carry them out.
- Complete cash-up procedures.
- Set up and maintain merchandise displays.
- Keep the work environment clean and safe.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
What you'll need#
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to stay organized.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, as some heavy lifting is required.
- Applicants must be over 14 years old.
