    About the role#

    Schnabel Engineering is hiring a full-time Civil Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This position runs from May through August in Portland, Oregon. You will work under the supervision of senior engineering staff to apply professional principles to real-world projects. This role involves a mix of office duties and field work.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with geotechnical investigations and analyses.
    • Perform design work for retaining walls and excavation support.
    • Conduct studies related to hydrology and hydraulics.
    • Prepare construction plans.
    • Support earthquake engineering analyses.
    • Perform construction observation and materials testing.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering Bachelor’s degree program.
    • A valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
    • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Willingness to perform both office and field work.
