About the role#
Schnabel Engineering is looking for a full-time Civil Engineering intern to join the team in Lakewood, Colorado. This position runs during the summer of 2027, from May through August. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers to apply professional principles to real projects and build your practical experience.
What you'll do#
- Assist with geotechnical investigations and analyses.
- Support the design of retaining walls and excavation support systems.
- Work on hydrology and hydraulic studies.
- Prepare construction plans.
- Support advanced earthquake engineering analyses.
- Perform construction observation and materials testing.
- Travel as required for project needs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree program for Civil Engineering.
- A valid driver’s license, as driving is a requirement for this role.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- A willingness to work both in the office and outdoors.
