About the role#
This is a paid internship for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on-site at the Scotiabank trade floor in Toronto. The role requires a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week for a duration of 12 or 16 months.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support and consulting to resolve computer and technology issues on the trade floor.
- Analyze incoming issues to resolve them directly or redirect them to the correct channels.
- Implement and maintain trading technologies, including Bloomberg.
- Configure and manage mobile devices such as laptops, iPhones, and tablets.
- Contribute to projects involving data analysis, analytics, and new technology initiatives.
- Develop in-house web-based tools to optimize trade floor processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a post-secondary program, specifically in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Experience working in a Windows environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot applications and handle computer hardware.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High energy and a desire to learn new concepts.
- Professional standards and a strong sense of ownership.
- Familiarity with web or database programming such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, or C# is an asset.
- Experience with network administration, cellular technologies, or computer hardware is an asset.
