About the role#
This internship provides practical experience for future pharmacists within a community pharmacy setting. You will work in a locally owned and operated store to deliver health, beauty, and convenience services. This role focuses on preparing you for success as a community pharmacist by offering real world training that complements your academic studies.
What you'll do#
- Acknowledge all customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Provide an exceptional shopping experience for pharmacy customers.
- Manage customer confidentiality and consent processes to ensure all privacy requirements are met.
- Learn about the expanding roles of a community pharmacist.
- Develop skills in over-the-counter products, disease state management, and drug therapy.
- Enhance your communication skills with patients, employees, and other health care workers.
- Learn the operational skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Public Health, Nursing, or Health Administration.
- A commitment to keeping the customer at the center of your work.
- Ability to work in a community pharmacy environment.
