About the role#
This internship provides practical experience in a community pharmacy setting. You will work in a locally owned store to help deliver health, beauty, and convenience services. The role focuses on preparing future pharmacists for success by providing real-world training that complements your academic studies.
What you'll do#
- Help deliver health and beauty services to the community.
- Learn to manage a retail pharmacy environment.
- Develop knowledge of OTC products, drug therapy, disease state management, and patient counseling.
- Enhance your communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
- Greet customers who approach the pharmacy.
- Ensure all privacy requirements, including confidentiality and consent management, are met.
- Maintain clear identification to the public while on duty.
- Provide an exceptional experience for pharmacy customers.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Health Administration, or Biomedical Sciences.
- A commitment to professional conduct and privacy standards.
- An interest in the expanding role of community pharmacists.
