About the role#
This position offers practical experience for pharmacy students within a community retail setting. You will work in a locally owned store while receiving support from a national network. The role focuses on preparing future pharmacists for success by providing real world training and exposure to the expanding responsibilities of a community pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Deliver health, beauty, and convenience services to the community.
- Acknowledge customers as they approach the pharmacy.
- Manage customer confidentiality and consent requirements.
- Maintain high standards for customer service.
- Be clearly identifiable to the public while on duty.
- Enhance your knowledge of OTC products, disease state management, and drug therapy.
- Improve communication skills with patients, staff, and other health care workers.
- Learn the operational skills necessary to manage a retail pharmacy.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a relevant program such as Pharmaceutical Sciences, Nursing, Health Administration, or Public Health.
- A focus on providing an exceptional experience for pharmacy customers.
- Ability to work in a community pharmacy environment.
