About the role#
Simmons Foods offers an internship program designed to provide hands-on experience through real-world projects. You will work within the IT department to solve actual business problems while building relationships across the company. This role balances project work with daily tasks to help you understand our operational fundamentals.
What you'll do#
- Complete a project that addresses a specific department need and allows you to apply your academic skills.
- Present your project findings to your team and senior leadership at the end of the summer.
- Perform daily tasks to learn our processes and technical systems.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying ways to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure best practices and participate in team meetings.
- Follow all company, facility, and regulatory guidelines.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to use computers and various software programs.
- Willingness to lead, take charge, and share your opinions.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours, work in various temperatures, and lift at least 10 pounds.
