About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work on projects that address real-world challenges at Simmons Foods. You will gain experience through a mix of project-based work and daily tasks that reveal the fundamentals of our processes. At the end of the summer, you will present your findings to your team and senior leaders.
What you'll do#
- Execute project work to solve specific business problems related to your field of study.
- Participate in daily operational tasks to build your understanding of the process.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and identify ways to reduce waste.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure best practices and project objectives are met.
- Follow company operating systems, including quality and security standards.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Agriculture, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work on your feet for multiple hours.
- Ability to work in various temperatures.
- Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.
