About the role#
KUTV is looking for interns to join the newsroom. You will gain a complete understanding of how news is produced from start to finish. This role involves both observational learning and hands-on work. You will take an active part in the newsgathering process during your shifts.
What you'll do#
- Participate in daily newsroom operations.
- Work 10-20 hours per week, depending on your university requirements.
- Coordinate your internship schedule with your educational faculty to ensure you receive academic credit.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university.
- Current registration in an internship course at your institution.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Reliable transportation.
- Preference is given to students entering their junior or senior year or those in a graduate program.
- We prefer you provide two samples of your work, such as writing projects, audio, or video.

- This position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
- This is an unpaid internship.
- Graduate students are eligible to apply.
- We accept applicants from journalism, communications, and political science programs.
