About the role#
Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is hiring a Plumbing Intern to join our team in Nashville. This is a full-time, paid internship that offers hands-on experience with plumbing systems design. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects across healthcare, education, and sports facilities.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with the design of plumbing systems for various facility types.
- Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and calculations using Revit.
- Participate in site visits, design meetings, and internal project reviews.
- Research engineering decisions and ensure code compliance.
- Collaborate with team members across different disciplines.
- Build your knowledge of industry codes and standards, including IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong interest in building systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to learning and asking questions.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Professionalism and the ability to work well within a team.
