About the role#
We are looking for a Plumbing Design Intern to join our team in Nashville. This role provides hands-on experience in plumbing systems design for various facility types, including healthcare, education, and sports and entertainment projects. You will work alongside experienced professionals on projects that impact communities nationwide.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers in designing plumbing systems for diverse facility types.
- Participate in site visits, internal project reviews, and design meetings.
- Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and calculations using Revit.
- Conduct research to support engineering decisions and ensure code compliance.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple disciplines in a team environment.
- Build familiarity with industry standards and codes like IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in building systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or other CAD tools.
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and ask questions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of theories and methodologies relevant to the discipline.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and collaborate effectively in team settings.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- Work is on-site.
- We provide paid overtime and a housing allowance for interns who do not live near our office location.
