About the role#
We are seeking a Plumbing Design Intern to work alongside our team in Houston. This role provides an opportunity to gain experience in plumbing systems design for various facility types, including healthcare, education, sports, and entertainment projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist engineers with the design of plumbing systems.
- Prepare technical documentation, diagrams, and calculations using Revit.
- Participate in design meetings, internal project reviews, and site visits.
- Conduct research to support engineering decisions and ensure code compliance.
- Collaborate with team members across different disciplines.
- Build your knowledge of industry standards such as IPC, UPC, NFPA, and ASPE.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
- Interest in building systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Understanding of relevant engineering theories and methodologies.
- Professionalism and a collaborative approach in team settings.
Location & details#
- Location: Houston, Texas.
- Work modality: On-site.
- This is a paid, full-time internship with a rolling start date.
- We provide paid overtime and a housing allowance for interns who do not live near our office location.
