About the role#
This Development Engineering Co-Op position is a pipeline for future leadership talent. You will work on-site in Rochester, New York, as part of a cross-functional team. The program focuses on hands-on engineering assignments under the guidance of a mentor. You must be prepared for geographic mobility, as this role requires flexibility for both your co-op term and potential future employment opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with project teams to develop new products and manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to product and packaging design through design reviews and analysis.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews.
- Review process specifications and development plans with team members and suppliers.
- Assist with the selection of plastic processing equipment and help develop project capital and cost requirements.
- Conduct processing trials to optimize variables using DOE methods and pFMEA.
- Execute FAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ qualifications for molds and equipment.
- Perform measurement system analysis, functional testing, and dimensional studies.
- Document your findings in detailed technical reports and present results at reviews.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical or Plastics Engineering, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2029.
- Proven leadership experience through campus organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or military service.
- A track record of influencing others and driving results.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
- Strong learning agility and an innovative mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Previous related work experience or internships are preferred.

- Employment Type: Full-time.
- Compensation: Hourly rate between $21.50 and $28.75.
- Relocation: A $5,000 net stipend is available if you live 50+ miles from the work location.
