About the role#
This co-op position is part of the CAPE organization at PlayStation. You will build systems that help players discover, buy, and engage with content across the PlayStation ecosystem. The team focuses on two main areas: Transact, which powers purchase and payment systems, and Nurture, which handles personalized content discovery and dynamic user experiences. You will work on high-scale systems that manage high levels of concurrency and transactions while collaborating across Sony to shape how players connect with games.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain systems that support millions of players worldwide.
- Develop software for purchase and payment processing.
- Create personalized content discovery features.
- Collaborate with team members to improve system performance and user experiences.
- Work on high-scale infrastructure requiring high concurrency support.
What you'll need#
- Experience with Enterprise Java/J2EE, Web Services, REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
- Proficiency in AWS native services including EC2, S3, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with SpringBoot, testing frameworks, container technologies, and container orchestration.
- Ability to work with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience developing applications on Unix/Linux platforms.
- Enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based in Waterloo, Ontario.
- The role offers a hybrid work model, allowing for remote, on-site, or hybrid arrangements.
- Please note that the first day of the co-op term must be completed on-site in Waterloo.
- This position is offered on a rolling term basis.
