About the role#
As a Weld Engineering Intern, you will work with our manufacturing and engineering teams to develop and improve welding processes. You will gain hands-on experience with fabrication methods, quality standards, and industry codes while working alongside technical professionals.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to troubleshoot production issues.
- Assist with welding process development, testing, and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare welding procedures, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
- Research and evaluate new welding techniques, equipment, and fabrication methods.
- Collect and analyze production data to find opportunities for process improvement.
- Support weld inspections, testing, and compliance with standards like ASME and NAVSEA.
- Participate in investigations regarding weld quality and corrective actions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Welding, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
- You must be entering your Sophomore or Junior year.
- Hands-on experience with GTAW and GMAW welding processes.
- A basic understanding of metallurgy, manufacturing principles, and welding processes.
- Proficiency with standard office software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical documentation is preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or 3D modeling is a plus.

- This position is located in Ogden, Utah.
- This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship with a rolling start date.
