About the role#
Stantec is hiring Engineering Interns for the Summer 2027 term to join our Energy practice in San Diego. You will work alongside experienced practitioners on local, national, and international power delivery projects. This role offers hands-on experience in the consulting engineering industry.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering support for a variety of design projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and CAD designers.
- Produce drawings including CAD drafting and sketches.
- Review design calculations and assist with report preparation.
- Conduct product research and outreach.
- Perform occasional site visits and handle various project-related tasks.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, or Civil Engineering program.
- Completion of at least one year of college, with graduation expected within approximately three years.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Basic understanding of CAD drafting software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inventor, or Revit.
- Working knowledge of MS Office software.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and remain self-motivated.

- Note: This role involves a typical office environment with desk work, as well as occasional field work that may include exposure to inclement weather.
