    About the role#

    This internship offers students the chance to gain practical experience within the Florida Department of Transportation. You will work under direct supervision across various departments to learn how the agency functions. The program focuses on professional development and provides exposure to the business side of government operations. Interns will have the opportunity to contribute to agency goals while building skills in a professional setting.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform routine daily tasks across different work units.
    • Engage in research and provide insights to support department initiatives.
    • Interact with executive leadership, project managers, and external partners.
    • Actively participate in team projects and contribute to organizational goals.
    • Assist with administrative, financial, or technical processes depending on your assigned area.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Interest in learning about the role of the Florida Department of Transportation.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Majors in Business Administration, Public Health, Human Resources, Psychology, Communications, or Marketing.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the United States.

    • Location: Lake City, Florida.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Commitment: Full-time, up to 20 hours per week.
    • Compensation: Paid position.
