    About the role#

    This is a part-time internship with the Florida Department of Transportation District 5 office. You will work 10 hours per week during the Fall 2026 semester, from August through December. This role is paid at $15.00 per hour and requires on-site attendance in DeLand, Florida.

    What you'll do#

    • Create project-specific collateral materials.
    • Participate in media training.
    • Coordinate and attend public meetings, hearings, and special events.
    • Develop Community Awareness Plans.
    • Write and format content for the District Newsletter.
    • Perform website audits and updates.
    • Apply knowledge of communications principles and relevant regulations to your daily tasks.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be at least 18 years old.
    • You must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • You should have a basic understanding of communications principles.
    • Proficiency with a personal computer and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.
    • Strong organizational, time management, and task prioritization skills.
    • Preference is given to college students at the junior, senior, or graduate level.
