    About the role#

    This internship with the Florida Department of Transportation offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience in the transportation industry. You will work under direct supervision across various units to support agency goals and contribute to the development of the state transportation system. This is a part-time, on-site position based in Lake City, Florida, for the Summer 2026 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Perform routine tasks across different work units to support department operations.
    • Interact with executive leadership, project managers, team leads, and fellow interns.
    • Participate in team projects and contribute to specific agency initiatives.
    • Assist in driving organizational change through research and collaboration.
    • Engage in areas such as transportation planning, program management, modal development, emergency management, or right of way administration.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age.
    • Authorization to work in the United States.
    • Relevant majors include Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or Civil Engineering.
