About the role#
This internship provides a mix of engineering analysis and hands-on industrial work. You will spend time on the production floor working with operators and maintenance teams. This role focuses on applying engineering principles to real equipment and systems to drive production success.
What you'll do#
- Assist with scrap analysis and alloy verification using spectrometry and other lab tools.
- Support melt shop operations by collecting and analyzing production data.
- Identify yield loss points and recommend improvements.
- Participate in scrap recovery and process optimization projects.
- Collaborate with operators, engineers, and lab personnel.
- Gain hands-on experience in casting operations, including heat cycles, transfers, and turnaround tasks.
- Validate lab results, support round robin testing, and ensure compliance with accuracy standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Materials Science or Engineering.
- A preferred GPA of at least 2.7.
