About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Engineering Co-op position for the Winter 2026 term. You will work on-site in Auburn Hills, Michigan. This role is designed to provide engineering students with hands-on experience by applying academic concepts to real-world automotive security and access systems.
What you'll do#
- Learn how parts are manufactured at the facility.
- Work with customer, product, and process specifications.
- Perform validation testing for new product designs and manufacturing processes.
- Assist with problem solving for products and processes, including recommending solutions.
- Participate as a member of cross-functional teams involving quality, product design, and manufacturing.
- Create and document work instructions for equipment and processes.
- Develop prototype models using CAD and assist with Design for Manufacturing.
- Conduct Design of Experiments, collect and summarize data, and implement solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Write Engineering Change Notices and support documentation.
What you'll need#
- You must be actively enrolled and in good standing in a bachelor degree program for mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
- You must be enrolled in a credit course covering the co-op experience for the term.
- You must conduct yourself in a professional manner and follow all company salaried associate work rules.
