About the role#
As an Accounting Intern at Summit Agricultural Group, you will work across multiple areas of finance within our agri-businesses. You will be based at our headquarters in Alden, Iowa. This role provides exposure to both daily accounting tasks and the month end financial close for Summit Farms and associated investment entities.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the monthly financial close of Summit Farms, including account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, and accrued expenses.
- Build an understanding of private equity funds by helping with the monthly close of investment entities and the compilation of quarterly financial statements.
- Support the team on special projects like cost analysis, tax credit preparation, inventory counts, and vendor risk management.
- Use AI tools as part of the accounting workflow.
- Deliver a final presentation to the management team summarizing your results and accomplishments.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a Sophomore or Junior majoring in accounting, agricultural business, economics, or finance.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is helpful but not required.

- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship located in Alden, Iowa.
