About the role#
The Business Leadership Program (BLP) Internship is a 10-week paid summer assignment. You will work on projects that contribute to our business goals and help drive innovation. Throughout the summer, you will gain hands-on experience in Risk Management by working alongside our internal experts. You will also participate in an immersive orientation, networking events, and receive ongoing support from mentors.
What you'll do#
- Provide independent assessments of Synchrony’s risks.
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control relevant risks across business activities.
- Challenge teams on their actions to ensure they fully understand their risks.
- Gain exposure to various risk functions, including Credit, Operational, Compliance, Strategic, and Model Market and Liquidity Risk.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Business Administration.
- An excellent academic record with a minimum overall 3.0 GPA.
- Ability to work independently and within collaborative teams.
- Strong project management, communication, and analytical skills.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site internship based in Stamford, Connecticut.
- The program runs for 10 consecutive weeks between June and August 2026.
- Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
- You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
