About the role#
Talos is hiring a Software Engineer Intern to join the RFQ team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work on high-performance distributed trading systems, specifically focusing on tools that support trading decision-making and performance evaluation. This 12-week internship runs from June 1, 2027, to August 27, 2027.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with the Trading team to define project scope, requirements, and milestones.
- Prepare design documentation and join architectural discussions.
- Build features in Go to enhance the RFQ system.
- Add analytics and metrics to measure the impact of your changes.
- Incorporate feedback and iterate on your work based on team input.
- Demonstrate project progress through regular demos.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the Class of 2028, pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one compiled language such as Go, C++, or Java.
- At least one previous internship working on backend systems in a production environment.
- Knowledge of relational databases like Postgres.
- Past experience with trading systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- A detail-oriented, analytical, and self-starting approach.
