About the role#
This is a hands-on, paid internship program designed to prepare you for a career in operations leadership. You will work within a Target supply chain facility, gaining a realistic preview of the Operations Manager role. Throughout the summer, you will work closely with a mentor to understand how our distribution center functions, lead team members, and drive daily results. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thornton, Colorado.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support the execution of daily operations on the facility floor.
- Plan daily goals and organize shift plans to meet targets.
- Track key performance indicators including safety, quality, and productivity.
- Conduct process improvement initiatives to support a lean operation.
- Address team member concerns and remove operational hurdles.
- Lead daily meetings to share information and align on business priorities.
- Coach and provide feedback to team members to support their growth.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program, specifically in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Operations Management.
- Participation in school or extracurricular activities, including leadership roles.
- A strong interest in working within a retail supply chain environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility.
