About the role#
The Store Executive Intern program is a paid, full-time, 40-hour per week training program designed to prepare you for store leadership. You will gain a realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader role by working closely with mentors and managers to understand retail business operations. Throughout the summer, you will spend your time on the sales floor and in the backroom, leading team members and identifying store priorities.
What you'll do#
- Lead and support the execution of daily retail store operations.
- Drive guest experience and contribute to store financial and operational performance.
- Manage and motivate hourly team members and team leaders.
- Plan and organize daily department priorities and workload.
- Teach, coach, and provide performance feedback to team members.
- Address team member concerns and remove hurdles to ensure smooth operations.
- Participate in daily huddles and present updates to the leadership team.
- Review business reporting and guest insights to troubleshoot and follow up on opportunities.
What you'll need#
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in retail management.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and team-oriented thinking.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology and equipment.
- Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to climb ladders and access all areas of the building.
- Effective communication skills and a helpful attitude.
