About the role#
The Business Banking Governance & Control team functions as the 1st Line of Defense in the bank's risk management model. You will work alongside risk partners to implement control frameworks that mitigate operational and regulatory risk. This role involves quality control testing, managing operational risk events, and providing reporting for leadership.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate governance and control programs across multiple business areas and stakeholders.
- Execute control activities and testing programs based on established standards.
- Investigate, escalate, and resolve issues as they arise.
- Perform ad hoc analysis to support business needs.
- Improve existing processes through innovation.
- Build and maintain relationships with business partners, G&C leads, and control partners.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
- Intent to return to school following the completion of the work term.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of Power BI.
- Ability to analyze and organize large data sets.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with attention to detail.
- Self-motivated approach to problem-solving and a desire to understand processes end-to-end.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
- Interest in risk management or Business Banking.
Location & details#
- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (January 4 to April 23, 2027).
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Compensation: $45,700 - $74,400 CAD.
