About the role#
Tempo Innovations is hiring a part-time Financial Planning & Analysis Intern to support our finance team during the academic year. This is a hands-on role focused on building and documenting standing processes for our pricing, unit economics, and management reporting. You will work closely with our finance leadership and gain exposure to the full annual budgeting cycle. Expect ownership of your work, clear deadlines, and regular feedback.
What you'll do#
- Build and maintain the models used to price Thermal Array configurations for customer proposals, including capital costs, operations, and maintenance.
- Run scenario and sensitivity analysis regarding site conditions, electricity pricing, and financing.
- Develop unit-level cost models for Thermal Modules and Power Cabinets, including bills of materials, labor, and overhead.
- Model Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit eligibility and track standard versus actual costs to explain variances.
- Create monthly reporting packages including profit and loss statements, cash flow, headcount, and operating KPIs.
- Support the 2027 annual budget process by building department templates, consolidating submissions, and creating the driver-based operating model.
What you'll need#
- Current undergraduate enrollment in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.
- At least two semesters of relevant coursework completed.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to build models from scratch and familiarity with three-statement mechanics.
- Availability of 15-20 hours per week during the academic term.
- Working familiarity with AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT, with the judgment to verify all outputs.
- Clear written communication skills for producing commentary for management and investors.
