    About the role#

    Engineering interns at The Boring Company take on significant responsibility. We expect you to own your projects just like a regular employee. You will work on-site to support our goal of improving transportation infrastructure.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical instrumentation in tunnels and on tunnel boring machines.
    • Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to help prepare civil engineering details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
    • Design and conduct experiments to optimize the tunneling process and machine reliability.
    • Design or support the design of systems related to operations, such as boring machine parts and tunnel infrastructure.
    • Track and report on daily activities in the tunnel and on the launch site.

    What you'll need#

    • You are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
    • You have prior experience in mechanical, software, electrical, or construction projects through school or industry work.
    • You have experience with CAD, Solidworks, PLCs, digital electronics, web technologies, or software applications.

    • This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
    • Locations: Nashville, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • This role is on-site.
    • We do not provide sponsorship for this position.
