About the role#
Engineering interns at The Boring Company take on significant responsibility. We expect you to own your projects just like a regular employee. You will work on-site to support our goal of improving transportation infrastructure.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of electrical instrumentation in tunnels and on tunnel boring machines.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to help prepare civil engineering details, design plans, reports, and meeting exhibits.
- Design and conduct experiments to optimize the tunneling process and machine reliability.
- Design or support the design of systems related to operations, such as boring machine parts and tunnel infrastructure.
- Track and report on daily activities in the tunnel and on the launch site.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- You have prior experience in mechanical, software, electrical, or construction projects through school or industry work.
- You have experience with CAD, Solidworks, PLCs, digital electronics, web technologies, or software applications.

- This is a full-time, paid internship for the Fall 2026 term.
- Locations: Nashville, Tennessee and Las Vegas, Nevada.
- This role is on-site.
