About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the store management team to learn the fundamentals of retail operations and leadership. This role focuses on providing a high-quality shopping experience for guests while developing your skills in merchandising, sales generation, and team management. You will gain hands-on experience by taking ownership of specific store projects and reporting your progress to district leadership.
What you'll do#
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the merchandise, and tracking your results.
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Handle daily operational tasks, including opening and closing cash registers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
- Perform merchandising duties such as processing freight, preparing displays, and completing price markdowns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university, with a focus on Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Capacity to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- No prior experience or training is required for this role.
