About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position at The Buckle, Inc. focuses on providing an enjoyable shopping experience while developing core retail management skills. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how the business operates and what is required to excel in a leadership role. This is a paid, on-site internship with a rolling term.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide service throughout the store.
- Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales, and total net sales goals.
- Manage a specific product category, including setting goals and tracking results.
- Maintain high standards for visual merchandise displays and store organization.
- Open and close cash registers, count money, and balance drawers.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager.
- Complete modules from the management manual and participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Human Resources.
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
