About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern works with the store manager to learn how the retail business functions and what it takes to succeed in management. This role focuses on delivering an enjoyable shopping experience for guests while gaining practical skills in merchandising, team leadership, and operations. You will complete sections of the Buckle Management Manual, provide weekly progress reports, and manage a specific product category to track sales goals.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide service across the sales floor, fitting rooms, and register area.
- Perform sales, merchandising, and operational tasks like cashiering, display setup, and facility cleaning.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, and customer service expectations.
- Recommend merchandise based on guest needs and assist with wardrobing.
- Handle freight, re-merchandising, and price markdowns to keep the store organized.
- Open and close registers, balance cash drawers, and manage deposits.
- Follow loss prevention guidelines and identify security risks.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking results for specific product categories like denim, accessories, or footwear.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Psychology, or Human Resources.
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Strong focus on customer service.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
