About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of retail business and leadership. This role focuses on delivering a high-quality shopping experience for guests while gaining hands-on experience in sales, merchandising, and store operations. You will complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide service by helping them locate merchandise and suggest items.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Perform operational tasks such as opening and closing cash registers, counting money, and balancing cash drawers.
- Assist with merchandising duties, including handling freight, preparing displays, and completing price markdowns.
- Provide weekly progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store environment.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- You are able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- You have the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include mornings, evenings, and weekends.
