About the role#
The Tax Summer Intern joins our team to support planning, compliance, and reporting at the federal, state, and local levels. You will assist with tax audits, prepare work papers, and maintain tax licenses. This role involves partnering with our manufacturing operations and working with outside firms to ensure accurate tax filings.
What you'll do#
- Assist with sales and income tax audits by gathering information and preparing schedules.
- Review and approve sales tax exemption certificates in CertCapture.
- Research and respond to inquiries from taxing authorities, vendors, and customers.
- Coordinate the filing of sales, use, and property tax returns.
- Maintain tax licenses and permits for locations across the country.
- Prepare annual state and local income tax apportionment work papers.
- Use Excel and Corptax to perform data analytics and prepare book to tax difference calculations.
- Assist with property and income tax incentives.
- Summarize research on federal, state, and local tax issues.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Accounting, Finance, or Business program.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
- Strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and a systematic approach to problem solving.
- Maturity and a high level of professionalism.

- This internship is based on-site in Lake Forest, Illinois.
- The term is for Summer 2027.
- This is a paid, full-time position.
