About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for our guests. You will work alongside the Store Manager to learn how our retail business operates and gain insight into management responsibilities. This role involves a variety of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks, including cashiering, visual displays, and inventory management. You will also complete specific sections of the Buckle Management Manual and provide weekly progress reports to leadership.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly, engaging attitude and provide consistent service.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and share that education with your team.
- Achieve personal sales goals set by store management.
- Manage a specific product category by setting goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Assist with store operations such as opening and closing registers, handling freight, and maintaining a clean, organized store.
- Lead and motivate the team using company performance tracking tools.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- No prior experience or training is required.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
