About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work closely with the Store Manager to understand the retail business and develop your management skills. The primary goal is to create an enjoyable shopping experience for every guest. This role involves a mix of sales, merchandising, and operational tasks. You will gain hands-on experience by managing a specific product category, setting sales goals, and tracking performance results.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and help them find merchandise.
- Achieve personal sales goals, including sales-per-hour and total net sales.
- Assist with register procedures and checkout.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations and maintain a clean, organized store.
- Present merchandise to maximize sales and ensure the floor is well-stocked.
- Recognize security risks and follow loss prevention guidelines.
- Complete sections of the Buckle Management Manual covering orientation, leadership, and hiring.
- Provide weekly progress reports to Area and District Managers.
- Lead and motivate the team through performance tracking.
- Participate in monthly conference calls.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a relevant field.
- You have an interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- You can work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- You are available to work the day of and the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas.
- You are physically able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
