About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on learning the retail business from the ground up. You will work alongside the Store Manager to understand store operations, guest service, and leadership. This role is a hands-on opportunity to develop skills in recruiting, merchandising, and team management within a retail environment.
What you'll do#
- Complete core sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Lead and motivate the team by tracking performance metrics using the Performance Tracker.
- Perform daily sales and operational tasks, such as cashiering, merchandise display, and register procedures.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned internship projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management from a four-year college or university.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
