About the role#
As a Sales and Management Intern, you will work directly with the Store Manager to learn the fundamentals of Buckle’s retail business. This role focuses on developing your leadership, recruiting, and merchandising skills while contributing to the store's mission of creating an enjoyable shopping experience for every guest. You will gain hands-on experience in managing store operations and team performance.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing, and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker for specific departments like denim, footwear, or accessories.
- Provide weekly progress reports and updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Perform daily operational tasks including cashiering, register procedures, and merchandise displays.
- Participate in monthly conference calls to discuss store performance and business strategies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- An interest in a long-term commitment with Buckle.
- No prior experience or training is required for this position.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
