About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern position focuses on building retail leadership skills while supporting the store mission to provide an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how the business functions and what is required to excel in retail management. This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Layton, Utah.
What you'll do#
- Complete the Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring sections of the Buckle Management Manual.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking results.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise display, and cleaning.
- Recruit and train new teammates while maintaining a positive floor culture.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area Manager and District Manager.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and take ownership of assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job duties satisfactorily.
- You have the physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
