About the role#
The Sales & Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience while learning the operations of a retail business. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand what it takes to excel in management and contribute to the overall success of the store.
What you'll do#
- Complete key sections of the Buckle Management Manual, including Teammate Orientation, Beginning Leadership, and Recruiting, Interviewing and Hiring.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates on the product, and tracking your results.
- Lead and motivate the team by using the Performance Tracker to monitor department or company tools.
- Provide weekly reports and progress updates to the Area and District Managers.
- Perform daily sales, merchandising, and operational tasks such as cashiering, merchandise display, and register procedures.
- Participate in monthly conference calls and complete assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Economics.
- No prior retail experience or training is required.
- A genuine interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- The physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship located in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
- The term is rolling based on business needs.
