About the role#
The Washington Post is seeking an Audio Producer for the flagship summer internship program in 2027. You will join the newsroom as a staff member, working alongside award-winning journalists to produce audio content and contribute to newsroom duties. This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based at our headquarters in Washington, D.C.
What you'll do#
- Record, write, and edit audio stories.
- Collaborate with reporters and editors to bring reporting to life.
- Report and write articles as part of your newsroom responsibilities.
- Create various media assets to support news coverage.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college junior, senior, or graduate student in a degree program, such as Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or English.
- A background in sound design, audio production, or both.
- Proficiency in Adobe Audition or Pro Tools.
- A strong commitment to accuracy, clarity, and journalistic rigor.
