About the role#
The Washington Post offers a summer internship program for college students interested in visual journalism. Interns work alongside staff members on breaking news, features, and enterprise projects. What you'll do#
- Report and write articles or edit copy.
- Take photographs, shoot and edit video, and create graphics.
- Design on multiple platforms and develop audience strategy.
- Perform data analyses.
- Collaborate with reporters and editors on news coverage.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a college junior, senior, or graduate student in a degree program.
- Commitment to accuracy, clarity, and journalistic rigor.
- Proficiency in Photoshop CS and photo management software for photo interns.
- Proficiency in digital video/audio and editing software like Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere for video interns.
- Majors in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or English.

- This is an on-site internship based in Washington, District of Columbia.
- The program runs during Summer 2027.
- This is a full-time, paid position at $1021.13 per week.
