About the role#
This internship is a 10-week summer program designed to build a pipeline for future leadership talent. You will work on projects that have direct operating importance to the business. Interns who perform well may be considered for full-time roles or leadership development programs after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Support process improvement projects focused on efficiency, productivity, quality, and cost savings.
- Assist with process mapping, data collection, analysis, and visualization.
- Participate in Kaizen events, workshops, GEMBA walks, and problem-solving activities.
- Help develop dashboards, metrics, and reports to track project progress.
- Support digital and AI-enabled improvement initiatives.
- Assist with standard work documentation, action tracking, and implementation follow-up.
- Prepare and present project findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support communication materials to promote PPI tools and best practices.
What you'll need#
- Undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biotechnology/Life Sciences.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- At least 1 year of previous internship or work experience.
- Proven leadership through student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or military service.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
- Strong learning agility and an innovative mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and emotional intelligence.
- Geographic mobility and flexibility for the internship and future career opportunities.
Location & details#
- Location: Richmond, Virginia.
- Modality: This is an on-site, in-office role.
- Term: Summer 2027 (start dates available May 24 or June 14).
- Employment: Full-time.
- Compensation: Paid position with an hourly rate between $21.50 and $28.75.
- Requirements: You must have a reliable mode of transportation. You must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
