About the role#
The Educational Software Developer student will support the creation of interactive STEM digital learning resources. Working with the Education and Student Programs team, you will design, develop, test, and refine Minecraft Education modules. This role combines computer programming, educational technology, and game-based learning to introduce learners to STEM concepts.
What you'll do#
- Research Minecraft Education capabilities, tools, APIs, coding environments, and best practices for game-based STEM education.
- Support the design and development of interactive STEM learning modules.
- Develop and implement programming and technical components for Minecraft-based learning experiences.
- Work with TRIUMF researchers and staff to ensure scientific accuracy and effective learning outcomes.
- Prototype, test, troubleshoot, and refine modules.
- Create supporting resources and documentation for educators and students.
- Participate in user testing and use feedback to improve functionality and accessibility.
- Document technical processes to support future maintenance.
- Contribute new ideas for digital STEM learning and educational technology at TRIUMF.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Interactive Arts and Technology, or a related discipline.
- Previous experience with game development, educational software, or digital learning resources is an asset.
