About the role#
This 10-week paid internship offers hands-on experience in commercial real estate underwriting. You will learn to analyze financial statements, assess credit requests, and deliver recommendations regarding credit risk. The program includes on-the-job training, mentorship, and opportunities to build a peer community. Successful interns may be considered for a full-time offer in the Credit Analyst Development Program upon graduation.
What you'll do#
- Underwrite, structure, and present a new loan opportunity as part of a capstone project.
- Assist with quarterly trending reports and annual reviews for existing clients.
- Support senior credit analysts with financial spreading, risk rating, and calculating financial metrics.
- Measure, monitor, and test financial covenants as specified in credit approval documents.
- Input monitoring requirements and covenants into a standard compliance system.
- Analyze financial statements and prepare reports on performance and trends.
- Interact with clients and attend meetings with companies in the portfolio.
- Use AI-enabled tools to assist with market research, financial analysis, and credit presentations.
- Participate in training, mentorship, and cohort activities.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Target graduation date of December 2027 or May 2028.
- Basic understanding of financial and accounting terms, concepts, and applications.
- GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with or exposure to Microsoft Copilot or other AI tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with acute attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage time constraints.
- Capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team.
