About the role#
As a Kitchen Extern at Union Square Hospitality Group, you will gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment. This role is designed for individuals who want to refine their culinary techniques and grow within a team that values attention to detail and hard work.
What you'll do#
- Support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality in all daily tasks.
- Work with the prep and receiving team to receive, label, and store market deliveries.
- Assist line cooks by preparing components for their stations.
- Learn to set up a station independently.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen team to maintain a collaborative environment.
- Demonstrate an eagerness to learn and refine your culinary skills.
What you'll need#
- Experience in a kitchen environment gained through culinary school or similar education.
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
- English fluency. Additional languages are preferred but not required.
- Interest in fields such as Civil Engineering, Business Administration, Chemistry, or Nursing is welcome, though the role focuses on culinary development.
