About the role#
University Enterprises, Inc. is hiring two Student Assistants to manage recycling collection at the Union and WELL facilities. This is a part-time, on-site position for current Sacramento State students. You will work in an outdoor environment and interact with staff, students, and the public.
What you'll do#
- Drive a golf cart and trailer to collect cardboard cages and other recyclables.
- Load cardboard into the bailing machine.
- Create, move, and stack bales.
- Maintain accurate records of bail logs.
- Ensure all necessary supplies for the bailing process remain stocked.
- Report any issues or damage regarding machinery to your supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment at Sacramento State (minimum of 9 units for undergraduates or 6 units for graduate students).
- A valid California Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
- Capacity to operate machinery and work outdoors in extreme heat or cold.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions in English.
- Preferred majors include Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.

- Location: Sacramento, California.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Shifts are available Monday through Saturday. You may work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks.
