About the role#
Watchfire is looking for an Intern Help Desk Technician to join our technical support team in Danville, Illinois. This is a technical role focused on providing installation, service, and software operation assistance to our customers and sign technicians. You will work directly with our help desk team to solve problems and improve our internal documentation.
What you'll do#
- Provide prompt technical support to customers, dealers, and end-users.
- Improve and expand the company knowledgebase by creating troubleshooting and how-to documentation.
- Log detailed records of every support call, email, and chat in the customer service database.
- Complete special software and engineering assignments as needed.
- Provide occasional on-call or remote support on weekends.
- Interact with the design and engineering teams, with potential opportunities for R&D tasks depending on your background.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration. Recent graduates are also eligible.
- A solid understanding of networking basics, such as network setup, cabling, or PC configuration.
- Basic knowledge of electronics gained through college coursework.
- At least 1 year of prior experience in a help desk or phone support role, preferably in IT or software.
- Strong verbal communication skills and a demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service.
